We selected this method to avoid the very fiddly job of trying to assembly the diorama inside the cutaway section. It also allows modellers who do not want to have a cutaway to construct the gun decks as stand-alone dioramas that can be displayed alongside their Victory.

Great, we get diarrhoea...err...I mean a diorama with this build? No seriously, I shall not be having the open sided version of Victory, but the idea of a diorama to go with Victory is great news...thanks.. I've never had a complaint with what I've recieved with this kit, I realy enjoy everything to do with it, especially this forum, with the exception of the lack of information! It's great to hear that we have the option of the 'diorama', but if this info was given earlier it would have prevented people dropping their subscription or going to the expence of buying extra planking (and proably messing up the slide in option) Obviously we will get build instructions 'peasemeal' with the 'Mag' but I think some things should be forewarned. (I myself had just been pricing up, with a view to buy, the 'Gun Deck' 'diorama' or the 'cross section') Please keep us informed Admin Jeff

If you dont use the open gun deck then you will have false cannons as per the others on that deck!!

Diorama or no diorama...what the heck...I'm enjoying this build anyway, whatever parts comes with each mag..I'm gonna still be smilin... i totally agree, no matter what others say, i am enjoying the build and the contributions on the forum... even if my parts come a week or two behind others builds....its my model, that i could not afford in one go. an advantage of the forum is others find problems or tricky parts and we are then forewarned current builds

I personally am going for a solid construction, (no slide in/out or open cavity). However, I was very impressed with what 'Cornwall Models' have to offer on this diorama situation. In the Corel section. Different scale though 1/98 scale. £100. Even before the first issue arrived through my door I wanted to have a stand alone, very detailed 'slice' through the middle. Maybe showing the orlop deck with the man himself in it. Panart, again on the aforementioned site also have a very interesting 'bow cross section' of the Victory £150 looks great. 1/78 scale. 'Admiralty Ship Models' is another site which I have been looking at. They have a wealth of cross sectional static models. I will wait and see what is on offer before I make a decision. As a noob, I didnt want to over-complicate and potentially mess up what is a large amount of money to me. So this seems like the best choice to me and more visually stunning. Happy building all. Piot i dont know what weapons will be used in ww3 but ww4 will be sticks and stones.
