Hi Whizgig. Welcome to the forum. Re your query you'll find Float A Boat has lots of gear for ship modelling as well as the Admiralty Paints. Just ask for Rhonda when you contact re Steve's post. As others have mentioned you can get all the help you will ever need on the forum. The more experienced guys will always answer your queries whatever they are to do with SOTS modelling re this forum or problems other models you might come across so never be afraid to ask. I've found their encouragement and help absolutely invaluable. They help to make ship modelling a real joy, not a hard work. Hope to see some pics when you are at that stage. Thank you everyone I will defiantly be asking questions, I have build a few plastic model ships as in the Cuttysark etc but they over the years got broken and thrown out by the wife. I have also build RC planes and gliders from balsa which was fun. But I have no wife anymore and I have ended up in a wheelchair so it's a bit to hard to do the model planes and fly them so I turned to Helicopters instead. So my models won't get thrown out, and I will be putting them into glass cases so they can't get dirty and broken which I will be making for them with a wood base and glass top. I have decided to hold of on the Black pearl and build the SOS first so I have subscribed to it and they are at build no 24 at the moment so I will be buying some extras per month to catch up, but I will be taking it really slow and getting all of the equipment and paints etc as I go. Thanks for all of the links and help so far and I will be starting the build as soon as I get some issues.
