Hi All, I have fitted the piston rods into the cylinder cover as instructed on page 34 of instructions. The problem is that they do not slide freely and there is a little resistance.I am worried that that when the rods are fitted they might not turn and lock up.Has anyone got advice on this. Also would a little WD 40 help? Many Thanks

The resistance can only come from the rods not being glued squarely into the crossheads. If you can, remove them and re-set. Certainly a lubricant will help, but if you are painting your model, I would not apply it until the painting is complete, so as not to contaminate other areas with the lubricant.

Thanks for that Mr T.I will check the fitting to see if they are not square . As they have been set with epoxy for quite a long time I am not sure how I would get them out . I will try a little lubricant as I am not painting the model.Regards,Clive

Clive, to get them unstuck, disassemble what you can, and then soak the parts in acetone overnight. You'll have a "puddle of parts" in the morning, and the residue of the epoxy is quite easily cleaned up. Then, you have a fresh start! Tired, Old, and Cranky!
