UPDATE: PACK 12. Issue 44. This consist of: Control Box. Undercarriage Control. Sight. Brass Wire 1.5 mm.  Issue 45. This Consist of: Wooden fret Aileron Parts. 1 Wooden Strip 3x3x300mm.  Issue 46. This Consist of: Wooden fret Aileron parts. 1 Wooden Strip 3x3x300mm.  Issue 47. This Consist of: 1 Wooden fret Engine Side. Air frame reinforcement fret.  I know there appears to be not a lot sent in Pack 12 but I will be busy as this month there is a lot of sanding down to do and rounding of this is so the wing plates lay flat. Will post soon. Trev Really good build diary you have yourself there. The spitfire is a lovely model - it's like being in an aladins cave with all of these wonderful deagostini models. Hi Tony, This is a great build, and it sure will keep my interest, it will become more intensive as we progress through the build, but that is what I prefer.Regarding the finish it will be air brushed using Alclad 2 Lacquers, I will post soon when I have completed the next stage. UPDATE: Cockpit Side Panel. First I placed the right side of the cockpit on a flat surface, then I lightly sanded with 1200 grade for a smooth finish, placed the metal castings from stage 43 into the holes, this was a good start as all the parts fitted. The next step was to fit the 2x3 mm wooden strip which we have from stage 42 laying it over the side panel leaving a bit each side to sand down, not to sure about the finish so I have gone for cockpit green.   Next job was to straighten a coil of brass wire, well I have had a ago at it but not sure about the look of it ( need to think about it ) next to cut down 5 strips and stick them to the side panel. I cut down to 12 mm but in my case 11 mm was the length ! fingers cross.  Do you think the brass wire represents a hydraulic system ? before I build more. Regards Trev. Trev Your certainly keeping very busy with your builds. The spitfire looks one very awesome kit. Nice touch to add in the hydraulics by the way. Tony, A very big thank you for the Spitfire link with pictures like that I can see many hours re-thinking the cockpit all thought I will keep up with the main build, today I have brought a pack of 1 mm brass tube this will be in my plans for the cockpit, thank you for your time and input. This brass wire I have added it is a bit thin and I am sure you are right but it looks a bit naff for the airframe but I'm sure it will turn out ok, thanks for your input Spencer. Regards Trev. Spitfire Update16.8.14. Photo 1. I removed these two pieces of fret sanded the edges smooth and applied glue and placed to the Aileron.  I then placed the Bracket into the section at the end of the Aileron spar.  I think it is a good idea at this point to support or grip the Bracket until dry.  Next job was to remove the piece of fret as indicated sand and smooth and then glue to the Aileron, you will notice that the bracket is at a slight angle to the spar this is ok.   So far so good, this is the time to test fit to the wing while it is not set, that means adjust angle to wing, with that finished I moved to the other end of the Spar, removing the very small piece of fret (the small Bracket) plus the arrow shape piece, I then glued both pieces at the same time just to get the correct angle.   With both ends set next job is to set the Ribs in place first job was to cut all the Ribs from the fret, then check they are all in the correct order, I found to put all frets up against something square and look at the ends (from large to small) and then mark them. The main thing here is to be sure they are at right angles to the Spar, next are a few pictures as to how it went with me.     This picture to me is very important as you have to make sure they are at right angles to the Spar I used my square and check all of them just before they set.  After I fitted the last Rib it is so important to check that all ribs are flat, I then placed the hole assembly on a flat surface just see if I needed to adjust any ribs, this had be corrected in my build just before it sets, and if you look at the last picture second from the end I had to reset that rib, I know it is hard to see but I had to angle it down. Trev Looking really good. Some very nice clear pictures you have there as well - just wish my efforts were a little better (hoping to start my Adler build diary soon).
