These kits sometimes popup on EBay (UK)site. Dont know what the postage would be and there may also be import duties to pay as I found out when importing some kits from the USA (Model Expo)

You can buy the Zero kits on ebay for $1300 with $300 shipping from Japan, bit I have not seen a spitfire on there yet.

We don't generally get taxed on kits from Europe ( I have bought many kits over the years from UK).
We do, however, often have to wait weeks as they sit in customs before they send them to us.The shipping fees from UK are also outrageous compared to other countries.

With you 100% on that one.

I always try and support home ground when buying but sometimes no choice but to order overseas. My most recent was the model expo syren and a mamoli CSS Alabama. Best prices you could wish for until "mr post office" and "mr tax man" got their grubby mitts on the parcels.

Just looked at the bbc news and it seems the latest money saving ploy the Royal Mail are going to do is stop collecting after 3pm. Remember when I was young posting our shop mail after work at 5pm and it got delivered before 9am next day. And for anyone thinking "no I was not born in 1893".

Don,t get me wrong I feel nothing but pity for our poor posty. We used to get a couple of deliveries a day and one before 9am.

I sadly live in a large town not some out of town lonely place and the best we get now is our post at 1pm at the earliest.

Sometimes sit and wonder if life has really changed for the better.

Happy days

Tony

Happy Modelling
