I have been reading all these great build diaries and so I guess its only right to post one of my own. I hope i can keep my build up to the high standards I see on all the other diaries. This is my first wooden ship build, so ive been taking it slow and have just got it started. Hopefully my pictures post correctly. We will see how it goes.

While i am waiting for the next shipment to arrive, I've been looking into tiling the hull when the time comes. Since tiles aren't available to me, i was going to go with copper tape. I've seen a few tutorials on other diaries, can someone tell me what width of tape scales best with the Victory? Making tiles will give me something to do while waiting.
Thanks!

Hi, For the correct scale you need 4mm wide copper tape, i think i used 5mm wide and it looked ok too. cut or mark the tiles to about 14mm long. Steve

I just finished planking the underside of the stern deck, and heave a question. My last plank overlaps onto the transom. Is that correct or should it dive underneath it. I've looked at the official build diary and other photos but can really tell. What will this affect when I start planking the hull? BKELLEY attached the following image(s):

Hi Cant really see it in your pics but I think I know what you mean and a small overlap shouldnt cause any problems when planking the hull as the hull planks will bend up to meet this plank. The official build does say there may end up being a small gap here but this is taken care of later with a filler piece. Check out the last pic here - http://forum.model-space....aspx?g=posts&t=814 Steve
