Hi Andy, Just looking at your post and I must say that the colour of your planking really dose give a great appearance top work again, as with the rudder, looking at the Bow Railing did you cut all of them by hand. Regards Trev. Work in progress: Tombstone (Scratch) - San Francisco 2. -The Mayflower ( scratch by plan).

Hi Trev Thanks for looking in and your comments. The planking is the bare wood with around 4 /6 coats of Danish oil [ Natural] but its a little too shiny so will be toning it down with a coat of Matt varnish. As for the bow railing there all cut by hand from the supplied 4 x 4 mm Ramin supplied there are still 18 more of the top section to cut that go along both sides of the bulwark capings on either side at the bow but i will be using pins and drilling holes to fix these in position. Andy That bow railing detail looks fantastic. Very consistent cutting of the tapered tops to the posts - do you use some sort of jig to get this so exact? Happy modelling Tony Happy Modelling

HI Tony Thanks for looking in and your comments. I dont use a jig of any sort I just cut them by eye with a safety razor blade, it works pretty well most of the time but i do get the occasional cut wrong Regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Andy Thanks for the update on those rail posts. You must have a very keen eye (wish I did) as these are simple brilliant. I cannot even seen to get the 4 sides of one post correct let alone half a dozen. A beautiful build you have there - many thanks for sharing Happy modelling Tony Happy Modelling
