I apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge but my only experience with model building is with RC kit cars. So I am unfamiliar with glue terminology and theory and I am expecting my first delivery of the Senna McLaren soon. I have read other comments and links in this forum and while they provide a lot of info, it is a bit scattered and can be hard to follow. So far I’ve gathered there is glue in the kit but it may not be sued for all needs? And I need common super-glue but not sure what for. But that’s about all I understand.
Does anyone have a list of glues (with all the naming aliases) and where best to purchase; in one tidy list/place in this forum? If not, can someone send to me? Like I said, I'm new to this, trying to find a de-stressing (not distressing) hobby, and any help would be greatly appreciated! PS – I am in NJ-USA. Thanks guys.

Hi SamR46,
I use Loctite super Glue and I have on hand Loctite Super Glue ultra Gel control
For gluing ABS to ABS I use Tenax 7R. I got this forum Hobbytown.
The instructions are quite good to tell you were your going to need ABS glue or Super Glue.
Hope this helps,
Barry

Welcome to modelspace Sam BigGrin As Barry has mentioned, if you follow the official build diary then you should be ok but the glues are there guidance only and some modellers prefer to use different brands. There is also another link here regarding adhesives used...

In the same situation as samr46, even though I've read the forum a few times still confused about the glue, terminology names and methods, haha. They seem to differ depending where you're from so apologize if once again we can clarify once and for all the glue types, at least for us in the USA. I haven't started my kit yet, and want to buy enough glue for the entire project, but would like to make sure the type and quantity so I don't have to order more later on.

Even though I've read the instructions that have arrived, I still can't grasp exactly what to use. There seems to be two types of glues you need for this kit, instant adhesive and plastic adhesive. Please correct me if I'm wrong about any of this.

Instant Adhesive - aka super glue, Loctite seems to be preferred choice.

Plastic Adhesive - ABS? with Tenax 7R brand preferred.

Next thing is how much of each for entire project, and which method is best for each application. This is up to the user preference I assume, but would like input from the pros as to which method they prefer if any.

Thanks in advance for any responses regarding this,
Abe
