The great thing about being on holiday means extra time for modelling.... .. Issue 101 now complete, this started off with the adding of more bling down the starboard side and the fitting of the rest of the chainwales.... Chainwales were tricky to start with but after doing a few it started to get easier, think this was because my technique improved as I went along.... .. Painted gold around the gallery windows on both sides plus down both corners of the transom..... Think the next issue is nothing but painting and adding yet more bling.... will post when complete..... Happy building all... Regards Alan Gandale attached the following image(s):

Well issue 102 completed and as I thought, not a lot to be done on this one.... .. Added the dolphins down the starboard side and additional bling down the port side.... Painted segments of the crown red to add definition.... .. Decided to add some dowels for the final pic to give an idea how she will look with the masts added.... she's big.... .. That's it until next week so happy building all.... Regards Alan Gandale attached the following image(s):

Issue 103 started with the construction of the cradle for the ships launch.... As previously mentioned, I'm not too keen on the idea of painting the cradle sapele colour so decided to completely clad with sapele strips... Took a bit of time and can say it is quite a delicate process. Once clad, continued by glueing all sections together ensuring everything was square.. Finally painted all the edges gold... .. Am pleased with the way it has turned out.... Moved onto to constructing the middle and upper fighting tops for the foremast... Not going to detail how this was done as it has been covered earlier in my diary for the bowsprit and main mast construction.... Next on the agenda is a mass cannon building session as 10 cannons for the main deck are due to be fitted next week..... Will post again when issue 104 is done.... Happy building all....
