contact customer services and ask them to fix this for you.
they will probably ask you to send them back for replacements

Hi, this part has changed in my kit as well. Has anyone noticed that we've got three different types of barrel? 1st (bottom on the photo), Issue 1 2nd (middle on the photo), Issue 14 3rd (top on the photo), Issue 18 The changes from Issue 1 to Issue 14: - The end of the barrel is thinner From Issue 14 to Issue 18: - The ring is thinner, the hole on it is bigger. - The end of the barrel is more thinner. - The 4 ribs are thinner. Happy building for everyone.

I'll have a look at mine, waiting for my cannon crest to turn up so I probably will notice it! All I've noticed in mine is that the ring is not lined up with the holes for the brass wire, so thus when mounted the thimble is not straight. However the latest one we received seemed to be right!

While we are on the subject I noticed there were 2 small pins with the first cannon and 2 more with the second. There are listed in the magazine as parts but I can't see where they are used.
Anyone know?
John

yes my barrel is of a different mold, the thimble looks better although it would be nice if they were all the same. So if its only going to be the first two that are different I`m ok with that, but it its going to be pot luck as to which one we get then thats not so good.. When the ends of the guns are painted red the difference will be spotted willz attached the following image(s):

[quote=gingerale]Hi, Has anyone noticed that we've got three different types of barrel? Maybe they have supplied us with some captured french cannons I believe it was common practise to utilise these It will look a bit odd if you paint the ends red though Jimmy L.
current builds : Lancaster 1/32 (Hachette) Revell USS Kearsarge Titanic Lifeboat
I started off with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

we all noticed & moaned about 1st canon parts more so about size of brass bracket being too big for wire looking at picture it looks flatter also the thimble was out of line with most of the canons but now hearing they are in line could be someone out there in Deagostini land is taking note of comments possibly they have redesigned the moulds etc maybe they will reissue first few canons?? need to wait for a few members to build the canon & see if they have rectified one wheel being raised of the deck will be watching with interest good luck with ure builds

I also have different cannon barrels!!! Not good!! It stands out like a sore thumb!! If this is meant to be a kit you can buy in one go, does that mean you get different size cannons with that?!?!?! I would have expected it from a cheaper kit maybe, but not one of this cost!!!

Just thinking that myself Turboman, The Victory is a three deck Behemoth, surely different cannon size and type would have been equipped where ever and however they could have been placed. This model was descrbed as a replica of Lord Nelsons Flagship, lets see if repeats of the various cannon castings are repeated during the build..

i doubt this is an intended thing.
for what i have been reading in posts this model is going to be FAR FROM a replica.
more along the lines a "what it vaigly looked like with minimal and inaccurate detials"
although if someone could answer what those 2 pins are for.
its bugging me lol
