Hey guys BigGrin

I'm just a little confused about the screws during the damper unit issues (~42-45) it seems as though there is a few mistakes. I've looked at the build diary and I only found something concerning 2 silver screws in issue 44.

Part 2/3 of issue 43 says to use type 'c' although the pictures show a silver screw whilst type 'c' is apparantly the black screws supplied in issue 43. Which screw do I use for attaching the crank linkages (stage 2/3)? And what abot the next few issues (the mags seem to contradict themself)

Thanks in advance!

When ever it comes to the builds, I always uses Tomicks build diary

They tend to be more detailed than the mag, also highlights if there is a mistake in the publication

hope this answers your question

Hey,

Thanks for that but I'd already checked and can't seem to find anything relating to screws for issue 43 :(

I'll try and figure it out tomorrow morning if there are no more replies. Cheers

As above I would consult Mr Ts build and have a look at some other build diaries. If it is still not clear put the spares to one side and wait for your next delivery just incase they are to be used in the next issue, as that sometimes happens.

BigGrin Hi ,with part works they will often send out parts that are not used in the issue's received and are used later in the build sequence. A good example of this would be the Akagi build where I received a side hull plate in metal but didn't know what it was for until issue 22. So don't worry too much and the instructions sometimes says to keep these parts safe till later in the build

Hi, I know this thread had its last post about a year ago, but I've just had the same problem. I am sure there are mistakes in the instructions- in issue 43 I went with the black type C screws, even though as the OP says, the picture shows a silver screw. Issue 44 is even more confusing- it says that 18 type C screws are provided, which indeed they are. And in stage 4 it says to use the type C to attach the side protector mount, however I found these to be much too small, and they just span in the hole. I used type E instead- which it what it then says to use 6 of to attach the underbody connectors and cockpit base. However, I had nowhere near enough type E left, despite carefully storing all the screws since the beginning. So I used type Cs, which worked fine. And to compound the confusion, at the end of the stage it says to store the remaining screws carefully, showing 12 remaining of the original 18, indicating that indeed 6 have been used- even though it says throughout to use type E and the screws provided were apparently type C....confused??? I certainly wasConfused .....but it all went together eventually after a degree of head scratching and experimentation.
