Cracking work Andy and your skill really shows with those bow posts.... if you have done them by eye only then it shows you have a keen eye for detail..... .. One question, you say with the coats of Danish oil you have applied has left it looking a little too shiny for your liking and you intend to apply a matt varnish, just wonder why you wouldn't go with a satin varnish.... Satin is my preference simply because I love the finish it can give..... .. Keep those pics coming.... Regards Alan

Hi Alan Thanks for looking in and your comments, as for the matt varnish i was thinking along the lines of it toning down the deck with satin varnish being used on the inner balwarks and yes i do agree that Satin varnish gives a superb and subtle finish Regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Hi All Some more progress on the hull but first I have taken some pic's showing how i carve out the pieces needed for the balwark cappings. I have now varnished the outside of the hull with firstly 4 coats of Shellac then 3 coats of satin varnish and then added the the top row of metal gun port's [ 2 short hopefully they will be supplied next month]. I wont be adding the lower ones yet as the doors are just asking to be broken off. Now all i have to do is finish varnishing the inner balwarks and add the capping's i have shown cut. More soon Regards Andy arpurchase attached the following image(s): Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Andy You have a stunning finish on your model - very impressive indeed. Also have to take my hat off to you for your use on that razor blade to create the capping. That is some very skilful work to produce these all identical. Happy modelling Tony Happy Modelling

Hi All The final bits for this month are done although i will need to reseat a couple of the bow capping's as there not quite straight. The railings around the hatches have been fitted as has the railing around the central pin rails. Five pin rails have been made up and fitted around the mast's, that concludes this months issue, next month its back to the x-section. More soon.
