Thanks for the sound effects reference. The smoke was GREATLove but needed some more bass frequencies on the fire crackers unless it was the computer speakers.Confused Will have to put it through the old sound studio mixer/equaliser to get the full BOOM effect.LOL They could have done with a poly bag of petrol in each gun!ThumpUp Not advisable with the fibreglass ones though Laugh

Well i was thinking of one led per port hole or one per pair on both sides (ie in the middle to light up both sides that way i only need half of the leds)

Hi
Having LED id each port hole sounds hood to me. It will be good idea to get them flash in sync as the each gun fires.
I'll be thinking about it alot I guess.
We need to put rechargable battery pack, hide all wiring, quite alot of 3mm LED's (probably amber), some resistors, on/off switch (one for lighting up the decks and one for gun firing), charging port.
Quite alot to put there BigGrin but we can make it.

i was also thinking of putting a small plug in the bottom of the hull to plug an ext power supply (like charging a mobile) to light up the leds. with it at the bottom i can hide the cable when pluged in or disconnect the cable when not needed (ie to move it)

Hi Tarbrush -- I should explain that I am taking the audio out of my computer via an old Sony stack system with a couple of meaty speakers.

The cannon booms even had me ducking for cover!

Had we better drill some small holes in the bulk heads, before assembly, in order to pass the wires through later? Mellow Pity they didn't have cable ducts in the original.LOL

It's a pity we are not building a bit larger scale we could put an LED in the end of each barrel and sequence a rolling broadside. I don't think it would even be possible to drill out and fit in the thickest part of the barrel with a glass fibre bundle to take the light to the muzzle. Talking of glass fibre we could disguise a length as rope and feed the light from sequenced array of LEDs under the deck.BigGrin

All we need now is smoke.Cool How about an electric model railway smoke kit? BigGrin I'll research this for physical and cost practicalities, unless anyone already knows.LOL

Might be a problem getting amber led's, most of the kits on sale seem to be white or blue? Not sure about individual colours?

Hi again.
If you want to buy led's go to www.component-shop.co.uk
They are much cheaper than maplins.
I buy all led's, batterys and chargers there.

NICE find do you need to make a circuit for the LEDs , if so how do you do it?

a little useful tip would be to use glass paint on white LED's to get the desired effect you are looking for if you use a yellow glass paint you will get the effect of various shades throughout the ship which would look better
Hope this helps
