The optional RB7 upgrade set comprises of 15 parts sets/Stages:

Two-speed automatic transmission.

2 sets of tyres/wheels (medium & super soft).

The two-speed transmission provides a faster standing start, faster acceleration, greater maximum speed, eases stress on the engine (does not have to work as hard), and also has cool gear-shift sound!

The top speed of the standard RB7 racer is about 30mph (47k/mh).

The two-speed gearbox will increase the top speed of the RB7 racer to about 37mph (60km/h) and faster acceleration.

Stages 101-104 are 'medium' compound tyres with wheels & rim decals.

Stages 105-111 are the two-speed gearbox components.

Stages 112-115 are the 'super soft' compound tyres with wheels & rim decals.

(The 'yellow' already supplied tyres are 'soft' compound).

BigGrin Nice, that's great news. Am i right to assume that the tyres in the normal subscription are a hard compound or has there been no word on that as yet?

Hey Skyfire I totally agree, to have some WET's well, I'm wetting myself right now, but that would definitely be the cherry on top. Awesome!Drool

This is a really good idea and I will certainly be doing it. I was kind of surprised when one of the early issues mentioned 2 speed transmission as a custom upgrade that it was not being offered.

If your going to spend this much on a model you may as well go all the way. :)

Hi Mr T,

How does the second gear attach to the motor output shaft, does it bolt onto the end or does the shaft have to be replaced.

What other changes will need to be made, I'm not sure I want to assemble everything just to pull it apart again?

You need to change the clutch bell and there is an element of disassembly to install the new elements.

Thanks Tomick.

Do you know if the difference between the tyres is just aesthetic or are they actually different compounds?
