Hi looking for some advice on my latest project.

I have had my eye for a while now on the hachette 1/16 Tiger partwork, and after a few failed bids on ebay, decided to go for the trumpeter kit with the 2 in 1 turret.

looking at this as a longer term project and wondering what aftermarket parts I could or should consider for it.

I have already got my eye on 3 Photo etch brasswork packs from VoyagerModels, and was wondering if any modellers out there firstly have any input on these packs or advice on better ones, and secondly if there are other after work packs that i should consider which will give my model a noticeable improvement.

Thanks in advance :)

Hope all is well with your.

With all builds much of the end result is all dependant on what the actual modeller wants to achieve. Many kits have their positive and negative sides.

My biggest recommendation is that before you consider spending a fortune on after market parts (don't get me wrong they really can make a difference) is do a little research.

I am a big fan of the internet and will often look up kits I am interested in buying to get other peoples views.

Here is a link to someone else build so have a look and see what if any issues they are having -,it may help you decide what to invest in and if your really need to spend.

I have usually found that with most military vehicles the main thing to look at is the tracks - for instance some vehicles that should have perforated guide horns will see the kit supply these as solid infilled parts.

Hope you have some great fun with your build
Happy Modelling

I have this kit and there are some issues with it. Engine hoses are wrong, turret ammo racks are wrong and wont allow the turret to traverse 360. AFV modeler can supply the correct parts to correct this. They can also sell you a complete build diary book, its not cheap, but it is the definitive guide to building the kit you have. I bought one and it is excellent, listing all the mods and up grades you need. also birdaj2 is right, research the vehicle you want to build as some had zimmerit and some didnt, there are differences in tracks and sprockets and camo painting schemes. So far it has taken me a year to research the tank I want to build and get all the correct parts.BigGrin BigGrin
