Thanks for the tip Andy, I ordered one and it arrived today, not used it yet.

As SWMBO works in a school she is off for the summer holidays so been her and the step daughter I am just doing what I can when I can.

Here is waht I have done since the last update, making the catapult trolleys;

Thought I would do something different and do a build log within a build log BigGrin.

We Start with this

Then the 2 hardest folds

Next ones are easier, just closing it all up

Fold the sides up

Two done

Thanks for looking

Not been getting much time to model recently what with it being school summer holidays and having to spend time with family and fit work in as well.

This is also going to be my last update for a couple of weeks too as we catch our flight early Thursday for our all inclusive holiday in Morocco Cool

This update I made a start on the 12.5cm DP Anti Aircraft guns

Kit issued part

One finished

Quick test fit

This is how far I have got

Thought it was time to do another update, not lots to update on as things have been busy with the family life since being back from Holiday not leaving much modelling time Sad

This is all I have managed to fit in so far;

Finished the 12.7mm DP AA guns

Made a start on the closed 12.7mm AA gun, quite fiddly work carving the plastic barrels off on these. I do have these in resin but I decided to use the kit ones as they are pretty detailed.

Thought I would put a face to the name so here is my uggly mug in Morocco

Dave

Well I can see life is treating you well BigGrin

I was going to ask were I could buy a uk penny that must be 3ft across LOL that photo etch is seriously small and I would need a microscope to work on it.

Well impressed with you macro pictures and to see your skill working with something as small as this - a real credit to you Sir

Happy Modelling

Thanks for your kind words, its really appreciated Cool

Im just wondering how I will get on when I get down to the 25mm guns, I still havent decided if I am going to use the brass replacement barrels on these or stick to the standard plastic. Confused

Its been a busy week for me so again not had much time for modelling. Did have a nice weekend in North Devon's Heddon Valley though.

Did get an hour today to spend on Yamato so here is a very small update for those that are waching. It took me the whole hour to finish this gun off, just another 5 to go, I'm starting to get into the really tiny fiddly bits now Blink

I had a day off today so seeing as I had the airbrush set up for the Nissan pipes I did some more spraying of Yamato parts. Some of the parts still need another thin coat to finish.

Another job I have been putting off for a long time, and dredding the thought of doing it, was applying the wooden deck. I had 3 of them so bit the bullet and went ahead with this job. Managed to get it applied without incident on the first attempt, Result BigGrin

I did wet the sticky side first with some slightly soapy water to assist with positioning which did help massively. After taking the pictures noticed a small bit not pushed down so sorted that. Also dry fitted some of the parts to get a feel for the final finish. In my eyes this is quite a major leap forward on this build BigGrin

Thanks Dere

Sprayed up the planes and painted the nose cone as well as the props. Tomorrow I will varnish them in preperation for the decals.

Probably going to lose power anytime soone as a ferocious thunder storm overhead, I love thunder and lightening BigGrin
