Started working on the 20mm guns, quad and single, so far I have completed 3 of the single guns as these take some patience and time to build, upgrade parts from the MK1 set have been used.

Current Builds: Amati 1/200 Bismarck, Airfoil 1/600 HMS Nelson

To Build: Amati 1/200 HMS Hood, Amati 1/250 Titanic, Artesania Latina 1/48 HMS Surprise, Artesania Latina 1/50 Scottish Maid, DeAgostini 1/84 Sovereign of the Seas

That really is a very top build you have there. Well impressed how your getting you etch to stik to plastic/resin without (in macro mode) great globs of super glue showing.

My eyes really are suffering (to manybyears working for accompany that has use working 12 hour days off laptops before any of you startvgettingvyour own ideas LOL )

Just invested in a full optivisor goggles from Shesto - cheaper than wasting money at opticians in my view. Bit worried though that the case it came in is a hand gun storage box Confused .

Very lovely build.

I would be very interested to hear how you apply cyno glue - I use a cocktail stick but it still looks like it's been poured on

Happy Modelling

BUILDING: Hachette Spitfire Mk 1A, Constructo Mayflower
SUBSCRIPTION COMPLETE (Awaiting building): USS Constitution, Sovereign of the Seas, 1:200 Bismarck (Hachette)
COMPLETED: Porsche 911, E-Type Jaguar, Lam Countach

Thanks Tony,

Yeah I sometimes struggle with applying the glue, at the moment the glue i'm using comes with a brush applicator, using this is quite precise. In the past applying a little glue to the smallest part to be glued can also work, so for examle, applying the glue to the end of the barrel instead of applying it to the resin/plastic part first.

Thanks Dave, at least i'm working in a larger scale, it must be a nightmare at 1/350! However i've seen your build so far and the PE work is amazing.

Its been a while and its very slow progress but here are some updates

some work on the upper superstructure, added a couple of vents as these were missing from the kit, I have also sanded any rough edges ready for priming

I've added the MK1 barrels and blast bags to the 15cm guns

i've also used the MK1 barrels for the 10.5cm guns along with the extra photo etch supplied in the upgrade

Work on the rangefinders, again I will be upgrading these with aftermarket etch.

so this is the ship as it stands, looks as if its getting there but still got loads to do. Most of the major components are now complete, I just have the small detail and components to work on.

It's been a while and i've had very little time to spend on the model so very slow progress.

I've managed to make a start on the forward superstructures baltic stripe, very hard to achieve the stripe all the way up, areas had to be masked then re-masked several times and the process was very time consumming. I was worried there would be some paint leakage once the structure was airbrushed but thankfully this was very minimal.

I've also started to work on some of the smaller ships fittings. I upgraded the searchlights with the Eduard photoetch, because of the size of some of these parts it was very tricky to apply it. I've put together the 20mm anti aircraft guns again adding photoetch, using the MK1 barrels and some slight alterations by applying plastic card.

Wow some of that etch is tiny.
I'm going to have to carefully read your build log and see if I can pick up any tips to help me with the battleship i'm about to start

Great to see more progress on this and fantastic job on the masking, that looked like a nightmare but has paid off with excellent results.
