Engine is done. Based it on the Tiger 131 engine and photo's I could find online. Now for the detailing and weathering.

Nem, Great build Nem up to your usual standard,the paint work on the engine block is that airbrushed on because that looks the part. Regards Trev. Work in progress: Tombstone (Scratch) - San Francisco 2. -The Mayflower ( scratch by plan).

Daran Very nice work on the engine indeed. Always been a big fan of 1:35th military and seeing this one in the much larger scale is making me kick myself for not going for this one when it was released. Keep up the good work. Happy Modelling

Thanks for your comments guys, all the paint is by airbrush Trev, I work in advance and paint the parts in blocks, I think the finish is worth the effort.

Nem, this is simply a masterclass! Your painting and weathering skills are truly impressive. I'm looking forward to the super detailing that will be coming soon on the engine. I loved the work you did on the breech, the original parts were a bit of a shocker. The total remodel was worth the effort, it looks great. I also love the extra detailing sets and bespoke metal cogs you have sourced for it as well. In these days of plastic its important to get as much metal and photo etch in there as possible as it adds to the sense of realism for the model. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking plastic, far from it as it has its place too. But for be-spoke components, metal and photo-etch are a must to bring a model to the necessary standard required in my humble opinion? Tony: Yes youre right this one that I'd wish I'd subscribed to but by the time I saw it it was half way through the series! I must have been on a island in the mid Pacific at the time  That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! I'll look to e-bay to see If I can join the Tiger Tank club. Only after I've secured a complete collection of Hood though to make up for the one that was lost.

Thank you all for your comments, I am no expert, but I do my best. While the engine and other parts are drying off, its time for some decals!! I am really disappointed with the Peddinghaus decals, and to be brutal they are rubbish!! Way over sized or way too small!! Luckily I bought a few set from various makers and with the help of the Haynes manual and some very good friends in the Tiger tank world, I have a full correct set for the whole tank. There are a few missing that are not in any set, but I can work round that.

Radio rack, Instrument panel and gearbox are done. Again, using the Haynes manual and some good sources, I have painted them in the correct colours. The fuses on the Instruments were bakelite, as were the vision block surrounds, so I have tried to copy that. The white strips on the Instrument panel are where the fuse allocation info would be, but there are no decals for this so I painted them in.    Dry fit of the radio rack and instruments.  The engine has had its first oil wash to dirty it up a bit, and all the parts in the pic have had a coat of Klear ready for detailing and weathering.

Engine and transmission completed. The engine will get some dust added when I do the engine bay, and some dust and mud when I do the drivers and radio operators positions.
