Lucky you BigGrin nothing better than breaking open a new kit in my view (who says you ever need to grow up).

Looks a very neatly put together set of parts so looking forward very much to see what you make of this one.

Happy Modelling

Thanks Tony,BigGrin yep it's exiting isn't it?BigGrin BigGrin

Yes it is very well set out and the main plans are to scale as well so you can match the masts etc as you build them.

Ok I will be starting this as soon as I can organize the partsBlink Blink the instructions are not so good and the parts for all of the ship don't have part no's so I will have to go through the parts listing and sort them all out before I can start building.Glare

Also the instructions are very vague and it has very bad quality pictures in B/W which are hard to see of the finished sections already done but not actually telling you what to do and just a parts listing for that section if you can understand what I mean.Huh

And then with nothing having part no's even though in the so called instructions it states the part no's to useBlink Blink Huh makes it a bit of a pain but I will get it sorted out eventually as it is over 400+ part descriptions to sort out.Blink Blink Laugh

Hi Eugene, now you are seeing the vast difference in subscribing to a partwork compared to buying complete kits... Partworks always very detailed instructions for all to follow, brilliant for novices... Complete kits, depending on manufacturers have instructions that are pretty basic and written with the belief the builder is experienced and knowledgeable in the art of putting these together.... Good luck with her, its all part of the learning curve.....Cool .. will be following as usual.....Cool Cool

Regards

Thanks for the encouragement Alan but it's frustrating to say the least, I am getting there I just have one small problem the wife is complaining about all of the mess I have made in the lounge room as I have the kit all over the floor at the moment trying to sort it out.BigGrin BigGrin

I should have it sorted by tonight or tomorrow as long as the wife lets me continue with it LOL but she keeps giving me that nasty look every time she walks into the lounge or looks at me.LOL LOL

Hi Eugene

I recently got the Amati pirate ship kit, original instructions in Italian and photos in black and white. English translation I think 6 pages. Planning ahead really helps. Looks like a brilliant kit. Have fun and keep the updates coming.

Thanks Fred, I had a look in on your build diary and it looks to be a nice Ship, yes sounds about right the same here to an extent.

This is what I have:

1 instruction book with 118 instructions that tells you what part No's to use??
1 Book with very bad quality small B/W photo's and a Parts listing telling you the part No's there description and how many of them there are and there are 463 part No's.

I have just got it all sorted out and I will be starting in shortly.

Eugene.

I do agre with Steve on the qulity of instructions. i do find some of their metal castings a bit disapointing sometimes though.

Hmm! I must have got a cheaper ver or they are cutting costs with bad quality B/W photo's and not so clear instructions.BigGrin BigGrin

But with that said I now have it all sorted out and will get stuck into it.BigGrin

Take it at your own pace. Double check before you commit either saw or glue and I am sure in no time you will be well into this one.

Hope that all the concerns and worries fade away as you get into your build.

Happy Modelling

Ok I have made a start on the Endeavor and i must say that the more I get into this model the more I am annoyed about the lack of effort put into this by the manufacturing of the parts, so far every part I have had to retrofit into place and as for the amount of shaping of the hull that I will have to do I will have to get out the angle grinder just to get it down to a manageable size of material to work with by hand.

I have done the false keel and all of the ribs and I have put in the mast supports, and the first cargo hold deck at the front which I have changed to be more to my liking with false walls that I have coated with shellac and put planking on the floor as well.

As you can see from this pic there is allot of material to be removed to shape the hull.

This is the front cargo hold deck that I have changed to look better.

This is my first go at planking the deck for the front cargo hold.

And this is my finished product of the cargo hold also from this shot you can see the amount of shaping that needs to be done to the bow.

She's looking good Eugene, am sure once you get started on shaping the hull it won't take you too long.... Cool Cool .. Think the secret of these kits is to work on them little and often to break up the more tedious tasks. Cool Cool .. Keep posting and good luck...

Nice work so far, the Endeavour is certainly one of the curviest Bluff bows you can build, the planks from stem to sides practically go through 90 degreesBigGrin
