Hi everyone
I am baffled I have Issue no 15 and on page 9 in where parts fit -it shows part 30 in the middle. On the frame part 30 is next to part 31??????????
Also parts 32., 33 and 34 when do I fit them .
Sorry to ask a silly question and this is only part 15!!!!!!!!

If anyone can help I can start wrk on her again

Cheers
Pam

Hi Pam

My take on this is that the diagram in issue 15 should be ignored as being basically wrong!

Parts 32, 33 and 34 are referred to in issue 18 which is the last issue I have so far. I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that I will not try too hard to keep up with the deliveries but allow time to watch other people post their builds then I can learn from thier experiences. I am also thinking that without a set of plans to see the way ahead this build becomes more difficult than it needs to be.

Hope I have helped

Regards

I agree with Mike, I looked at the diagram and started to wonder was was going on, but simple went with the numbers on the frames and keel, dry fitted and checked tomicks build just to make sure..ignore the diagram.

Hi Pam, ignore the location shown for part 3O.

Part 30 is inserted into the keel at issue 16, it follows frame 29 and is located into the slot marked 30.

32,33 & 34 are located at issue 18.

Hi Pam,
By all accounts-and there are many- these vessels were not easy to produce by any stretch of the imagination...plans or not. When you consider the fact that every last detail had to be formed or constructed using nothing but the most basic (by modern standards anyway) of hand tools and the muscle power of the carpenters, then you begin to realise the massive effort involved in producing a ship of the line such as Victory!
Having invested so much time, sweat and sheer hard graft,i would have stood on the deck at Trafalgar shouting at the French " SWEET JEEZ WILL YOU WATCH WHAT YOU'RE DOIN' WITH THOSE BLOODY CANNON BALLS!!!" LOL
