Brave men all. ThumpUp

The men of bomber command now (finally) have there own memorial and their medals, money raised by the brave veterans and their families and supporters themselves.

But I feel its too little too late in my book from the political elite.

These were brave men who night after night risked their lives so we could live in peace today. Men who fought and died for their country only to be snubbed and expunged from the pages of history at the end of WWII by a political class who should have known better. Cursing Cursing

In recent years there has been a reawakening and renewed interest in our veteran's sacrifice by the young. This is very heart-warming and important, because if you fail to learn from the lessons of history, you are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past.

In quiet towns and hamlets across our nation small ceremonies are taking place throughout the year and in particular remembrance day for all our veterans across all three services to make sure they are never forgotten.

We Will Remember Them!!!

A very interesting article - thanks for posting this one. Wonder what it in in the ground stopping the grass growing - would have thought fuel would have long vanished.

Afraid that's how it's always been and in my view always will. What it needs is for the politicians to be put in a ring to slog it out to resolve differences. I have been to the Swindon Steam museum recently to look at their exhibition detailing the effect on the factory and town during wwi. Some really moving and very sad stories of the so called pals units all joking up only never to return.
Happy Modelling
