Well. here goes. This is my build upto now. Only the keel and bow section are glued. The cannon, anchor etc I have not started. I will do them as and when they are needed. (I'm worried about them getting damaged).

Hi Amipal. I've subscribed to Victory and I get parts weekly from my local newsagent. Comes on a Wednesday to shop. I'm saving the subscription issues until I've built the weekly one, if you know what I mean. The idea being that I can learn from any mistakes and correct them in the second attempt.

PS. I still haven't decided what finish to go with, natural or painted. Might do both.

Sorry about the delay in posting more pics. I forgot that I was posting themBlushing.

Anyway, here's the latest batch. I must admit I've had very little trouble upto now on the hull build.

Some more pictures of my build. This is the completion of the lower gun deck including the deck beam supports that somebody suggested. (Apologies to whoever it was, I can't find your postBlushing ), but it was a brilliant idea. It took me about 2 and a half hours to do supports as each one was individually fitted, but it was worth it. I can now look forward to fitting the middle gun confident that the deck beams will not snap under pressure.

Just noticed that one of the support beams isn't verticalBlushing , never mind no-one is going to see it when the middle gundeck goes on.

Damn fine job there and a good idea about the beam supports, I know what you mean about being sure that the virtical beams holding the deck...I'm a tad heavy handed myself and that thought had crossed my mind as I have been following the official costruction...A word to those who, like me, had not started the main build..I began today with preparing the ribs to take the lower deck halves, it was then that I noticed the the rib parts were not entirely glued properly...either it may have been a bad batch of glue or because of the parts being such tight fitting that the glue applied to the parts gets pushed out when putting the ribs together? Just a thought shipmates..but it would pay to check all the ribs before proceeding...Blink Confused

I can only echo what Colin has said. The build is looking very good, I just wish I could get on a bit with mine!

Thanks for your comments Karl. If only you knew how much I worry about horlixing(?) a model up. I am dreading doing the fairing of the hull. In my opinion that part of the model is the hardest. Get it right, and everything else is pretty straightforward. Get it wrong, you may as well bin it. I would sooner do the rigging than the fairingBigGrin

Thanks for the gee-up Karl. I appreciate it. Anyway, back to the present. More photos. I had a lot of trouble trying to fit the mid-gundeck support beams. I had to sand/file about 2mm off along most of the length. I don't know if anyone else had this problem. For what it's worth, I cut the rear supports to length first, then the two short bits, then the bow lengths. It made it a lot easier to measure the various bits.
