Looking at this as a "different" model, but has anyone built one before? Is this any good, or are there better ones out there?? Thanks

Hi Wildrover, not sure if anyone has built this particular kit but a stern wheeler has been built by Tony... Have a look at his diary, you may find it gives you some idea of the complexity of the build....

Hi Wildrover, BigGrin

Just my opinion you understand and I`ve never built a steamer, but that Occre kit has the best detail of any kit I`ve seen.

Which ever way you choose to go, will follow your build with interest as I love the old paddle steamers. Cool

Hi Wildrover,

If your anything like me I like to try and look what a kit might be like before parting with my money.

I have seen this kit and agree with Derek that it does look one of the most detailed kits as fair as accessory parts are concerned- furniture for the cabins etc.

The following build diary may assist you in making your decision.

Derek - Thats what I was thinking, the other steamers I have looked at may be bigger (1/50 as opposed to 1/80 for this one), but they dont have the detail that this one does.

Tony - Thanks for the link - think its made my mind up! Looks like there is a bit of potential for modding it too (Lighting, etc)

Great. Will look forward to seeing what you can pull off with this one.

To see they have even gone to the point of providing wallpaper in the kit will certainly make this something special.

Happy Modelling
