Lexan bodyshells tend not to have the defined detail compared with injection plastic, and being clear, there isn't much to see until it is painted on the inside.

They arent too special unpainted as shown here... http://forum.model-space...=128386&#post128386 but once painted they look awesome. this lends to the fact the race shell is smoothe and shiny lexan and not HIPS as the show body is.

Looks good and easy to mask too. I am probably not going to bother with the display body at all. I recently treated myself to a pair of lexan scissors as I had a massive 1:6 hovercraft hull to trim. What about the front and rear wings? Are there racing specific versions? Finished 3D Printer, RB7, Hummer, Skyrider drone & Combat tank collection http://www.model-space.com/gb/

The racing body front and rear wings are unpainted ABS plastic and have self adhesive vinyl decals to apply.
The front wing similar to the display body wing but has a differing assembly, and the rear wing is a similar assembly to the display wing.

in book 94 (belgian edition) they mention we should order the lexan body. I contacte deagostini and they mention we will receive it with book 100.
So i need to wait a couple of weeks to continue.
Currently I am looking for all the colors (paints). Is it really needed to buy the TS and PS paints? Difficult to find.

You need to use specific paint suited to polycarbonate/Lexan for the racing body and a paint suited to plastic for the display body, the paint does not have to be Tamiya product, but you cannot use the same paint for both body types.
There are other manufacturer paints available, though they may not offer the exact same colours.
A model car shop in your area should be able to provide all you need or the TS and PS are available online.

Hi greveleer check your pm for a site with a good stock of all the paints that ship international (not sure if we are allowed to post links to shops or not). For me my local modal shops are useless, they are slowly rotting away with next to no stock and when questioned all complain that the internet killed their business. One particular shop has a vendetta against models not made in the UK and thus does not stock anything except a budget UK brand. (century uk I think). Hi Tomick What colours did you use on the racing body, I dont think I will go the TS-89 pearl blue route due to the decals on the front wing being installed beforehand. Did you use a clear coat on the racing body before you applied the paint? From South Africa Building- RB7

You should not use TS-89 pearl blue on the lexan racing body or any of the TS range. The TS range is not suited for use on lexan (polycarbonate).
For the lexan racing body, I used PS-59 dark metallic blue backed with black (yellow elements backed with white).
There is not requirement to apply a clear coat on the lexan racing body and its unwise to do so.
Are you confusing the display body with the racing body, the paint type differs for both.
Paint info is here:

The reason for not using clear coat on the racing body is that you paint the inside of it. This means you already get a glossy look when looking at it through the lexan plastic from the outside. Finished 3D Printer, RB7, Hummer, Skyrider drone & Combat tank collection http://www.model-space.com/gb/

apologies yes, TS for display body and PS for the racing body. Will anyone be using the pearl blue paint on the racing body? Would like to see the difference between the dark blue and pearl blue. From South Africa Building- RB7
