The standard size for copper plates used at the time of Victory was 4ft by 15 inches.

This scales down to 14.5 mm by 4.5 mm. Problem is finding ready cut plates at that size. The other issue to consider is what if anything you intend doing about the rivets on each plate.

I have been trying out some ideas and will post some pictures when I have had a bit more time to experiment.

I don't know if this is of any help. If you have a printers near you ask them if they could sell, or better still, donate some lithograph plates to you. The litho plates are very thin sheets of aluminium and can easily be cut into strips or plates with a pair of scissors. I got some a few years back to copper the hull of the Mantua Victory I was building. It was time consuming, but well worth it.

Current builds :- Hachette 1/16 Tiger Tank
H.M.S Victory, Santisima Trinidad (Section), 1/8 scale Aston Martin DB5, 1/8 scale McLaren, YNWA

Spot on. We use them thin aluminum strips at work (plastic extrusion) and they come off as scrap - they score really well and like you said, cut incredibly easily
