I have herd a few rumours that the model ship manufacturer Mamoli have stopped trading due to a fire that has gutted the business premises. Never built one of their kits myself but stockists are now selling out as a result. http://www.historicships...PS/Mamoli/MamoliMenu.htm“Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

They look like they are fine kits, I can't understand why a business would stop trading because of a fire. Surely they would want to rebuild and make it better than ever. Unless its the case that this fire has left them so distraught they can't carry on. I suspect this may be the case.

Its not a rumour. The Mamoli manufacturing facility and offices were burned to the ground a few weeks ago.
No word yet as to how long it will be before the company is up and running again, but its likely to be quite a while.
A few retailers are clearing stock, as spare parts won't be available and its unclear if Mamoli will rise from the ashes.

That is indeed very sad. There does not seem to be a great deal of news out there but one of the things I saw ( but could be rumour) is that may not have had data backups of the kits design plans. Let's hope that is not the case and they are able to start up again because this is one company that had such a large range of models some being quite unusual. Happy Modelling
