This will no doubt get a few knickers in knots over there on that side of the pond. It sounds like it is indeed necessary, in light of the damage being done though. Tired, Old, and Cranky!

Nice find there Mark. And you're right...here come those ruddy Yanks to vaccuum up our history again (the filter won't let me go any further! ) Seriously though, I'm a great believer in the principle of SAVING artifacts for the future generations and I'd rather see everything from the Victory's last resting place preserved in a museum than left to rot on the sea bed. Designating 'historical wrecks' as untouchable is ridiculous - the wrecks just remain there until they're completely lost forever. How do we learn about their historical importance then? Where's Time Team when you need 'em! Robin First wooden ship: The Grimsby 12 Gun 'Frigate' by Constructo Second: Bounty DelPrado Part Works Third: HMS Victory DelPrado Part Works 1/100 scale Diorama of the Battle of the Brandywine from the American Revolutionary War Diorama of the Battle of New Falkland (unfinished sci-fi), Great War Centenary Diorama of the Messines Ridge Assault Index for the Victory diary is on page 1
