If Hamilton can repeat his US Grand Prix wins of 2007, his 32nd career victory will make him the most successful British Formula One driver in history with a win more than Nigel Mansell.

Yesterday's 1-2 for Mercedes, despite a bold performance from Ricciardo, finally ended any hopes of the Australian taking the title, leaving Hamilton and Rosberg as the sole contenders for the 2014 title.

But even if Hamilton wins next week's Brazilian GP just ahead of Rosberg, there is still a chance that Hamilton will be denied a second title.
The new ruling for 2014 will see double points awarded at the last race in Abu Dhabi - which means a win is worth 50 points instead of 25.

Could there be a final twist of fate in this fierce title race?

Is double points for the last race, Bernie's craziest idea yet?
