Cheers all for your comments appreciated, finished the galley door linings on one side, the wing structure was set slightly low, and as you can see the correct deck height has been achieved by building onto these firm foundations, the doors on the other side are in progress and the photo shows the mess I make. willz attached the following image(s):

Hi Willz. Don't worry about the mess! I did something similar to this on my DelPrado and it does look terrible at first, but once the galleries are on, having the internal walls and doors really improves the effect through the windows! Well done and looking forward to seeing this proceed!! Cheers all for the comments appreciated. Finished the battered galley doors, and you were right Robin, came out not too bad. Tried on the half finished stern to check how it marries up the lower band, not perfect but manageable. Having looked at the stern my mind wondered onto the curly S shaped decorations, these have been on my mind for a while, because the shape goes through a full 360 more than once it will be difficult to keep in one piece, wont be able to plan the carving with the grain for strength, going to have a go so we'll see, again cheers all willz attached the following image(s):

Thanks everyone for the kind words, appreciated, well on with the carving of the S shaped decorations, the first attempt broke after 4 hours work along with my mo jo, so taking more care the second attempt took something like 15 hours to complete, I would like to make it a little thinner and more elegant but to be honest I just haven't go the bottle, I'm at a thinking stage of leave it in its present stage or carry on till it breaks, and of course not to forget there's the other side to do yet I decided to leave it while its still in one piece. Cheers all willz attached the following image(s):

looking at the macro pic of the S decoration decided it had to be cleaned up, the stern has a slight camber and this allowed the carving to rock from side to side very slightly, so in order for it to lay flat on the stern without any tension I had to boil the piece for 4 mins in a pan of water, then placing the piece on the stern I covered with some 1 mm ply and clamped to the curve of the stern, left overnight and hey presto the piece now fits snugly on the camber of the stern, you may think this is a slight overkill but the piece will only be held in place with glue and this is an attempt to get as much surface material to adhere, OK the down side is evident in the pic, it brings up all the grain and makes it look really fluffy, so been cleaning it up all evening till my eyes bled, anyhow happy now, I think.............?????
