Dave

They certainly believed in having plenty of guns on board.

Really like how your being very focused and completing it stage by stages looking forward to seeing it all come together.

Happy Modelling

Well is beena while since my last update due to a number of reasons getting in the way and restricting my model time. Things like work, family time, being too cold in my garage where I model, I have not long owned the house so not had the chance yet to insulate it.

Here is a small update on what I have done since the last one, one thing not shown is the main number 1 turret now primed ready for paint.

Also no picture of the Mitsubishi aircraft that is now painted, gloss coated and almost finished decalling.

Shielded 25mm guns painted, barrels painted and everything sealed with matt varnish

Number 2 secondary turret finshed with the addition of ladders and railings then primed ready for paint

Somoke stack top sprayed black, this was really difficult due to all those pipes and etch, used blue tac to mask up, its not perfect but im happy with it, also gloss coat added ready for declas

Flight deck sticker added, initially I though this was a decal so I added a gloss coat, will seal with matt varnish

Chain painted as wasnt happy with the Kure grey I had painted it, also platform added

A few small details added near the break water

Dry transfer

Dry transfers on both sides, I know the join between the hull pars and rescored panel lines are not the neatest but bear in mind this is taken in macro mode with full zoom, in he flesh I am quite happy with my effort

And finally open 25mm and main gun barrels final matt coat applied

Time for another update on where I am with this beast.

I have applied the decals to the smoke stack but no pictures yet until matt coat applied.

'Pete' aircraft finsihed

Number 2 & 3 primary turrets 'brassed up' sand bags added, just need to prime now to get to where I am with number 1 turret

Thought it was time to start assembling all the parts that have been completed.

It probably wont win any awards but I dont think its bad for my first model, still lots to do
