Hi all.
I am new to DeAgostini, having seen their commercial during the Austin GP. I pressed pause and ran to the computer to do some research...

I can't believe I have never heard of them given my interest in models.
I have ordered the Samurai armour as my first kit. I got it with the $1 shipping. I thought it would be a good choice as it's so different from what I have done in the past and when finished it can be displayed as a piece of art.

I have done plank-on-frame ships in the past and think I have exhausted my interest in that field. During my time with ship models I also collected ship kits, having almost 50. I spread them out of the floor to photograph them and realized I was a ship kit hoarder! :)
I sold them all but kept what I was in the process of building.
Then I did the "collect every Tamiya kit you can buy route". Yep, sold them all when I realized I had too many.

Then I discovered wooden temple and castle kits from Kobayashi Kougei and Woody Joe. I now finish a kit before buying another one, think I'm cured of the hoarding, I think!

Now DeAgostini comes on the scene and I'm smitten.
The subscription route is new to me but I think it's brilliant. It's the modelling equivalent of portion controlled food! Also makes it more affordable.

Hmmm, which one to get next...

If you had seen them all you would have been just like a kid in a candy store! You wouldn't have known which one to look at first! My place smelled like a wood shop...
