My father served on HMS Artful, pennant number (P456/S96) She was one of the Amphion class. The picture of HMS Alliance, is how the Artful was after her refit (1955-1960) and was one of her sister ships.

I have been aboard her BigGrin she is in WW2 look internal but in her cold war skin external longer sleeker and lost the deck gun so she was quieter under water. unbelievably cramped but well worth a visit and there is a free ferry from the Historic dockyard Cool Cool
