Nice start. It's an unusual style of hull assembly using the 4 sections but works well. You have done the right thing in clamping tight. When you consider the age of this kit being an early release from matchbox you gave to admit how fantastic a model it is. Hope the rest of your build goes well. Happy Modelling

Hi all hull halves together as you can see will need a fair amount of sealant to waterproof it, even though I used a vise the gaps are still quite large. just waiting for the brass rod and tube for the prop shaft to come then I will seal it all. Ken's the name modeling's the game.

Hi all since my bosses husband is buying the Bentley and my boss has commissioned me to build 2 1/48 Tamiya spits and a 1/48 Tamiya Lancaster (her father was an electrical engineer on the lancaster and actually worked on the Concord too)the corvette is going to have to go on the back burner for a while but here is where I am now on her. Hi Ken, that's coming along very nicely, have you decided what motor to use?........I built one of these a few years ago,(the Matchbox version) and used a Dumas 6 volt Pittman motor(direct drive) and it worked a treat..........It gives a nice scale speed and has a bit of oomph to get out of trouble if needed........I used a 6v, 4.5amps gel battery and with the motor drawing .5amps it would have given a duration of about 8 hours if needed.............They are fun to sail and quite manoeuvrable too, I have placed very well in steering competitions.........Just a couple of things to think about, you have to be careful with top weight, like the originals it tends to roll on wet grass and the camouflage is surprisingly effective out on the water and soon starts to merge into its surroundings,(I've lost sight of mine a few times)..........
Keep up the good work.........Tony

If anyone is interested I will post a log of my commissioned builds but will just be oob as she wants them to look like they just rolled off the production line, I won't be using pe as they will be hanging and so that detail will be too far away to see. On the plus side of course they won't take so long to build. Ken's the name modeling's the game.
