You need not worry. Should you do any serious damage to your engine you are far more likely to have to replace the whole thing so it would just be the case of getting one that fits around the same spec.

The most likely thing to break is the pull chord which is a fairly cheap and easy replacement.

The engine is not obsolete as nitro engine technology has changed very little over the years.

Even if you were to buy a brand new ready to run nitro model getting hold of the same engine for a straight replacement can be difficult.

From what I can see, and this is common to most nitro cars, the chassis plate has variable mounts to take different engines and mounts. So it should be possible to fit a wide range of engines.BigGrin

I have not bought a new nitro engine for quite a few years, but I should think that all 21 sized will have approximately the same physical dimensions. The mounting holes should also be about the same. There are many on the market to choose from.

When you actually look at the price of the spares on a GX21 engine even on ebay it is well over $300 -$400 to build one up. If you purchase a second copy of issues 64,65,66,67,68,69 and 70 this will give you a total spare engine including carburettor and starter for $160 delivered. No brainer buy another issue of what you think are important parts and you cant go wrong, you have already spent over $2000 so another couple of hundred on crucial parts is the way to go if you are going to drive it. I have already purchased some spares.

Kyosho may have other engines that may fit the RB7, but other brands won't fit as Kyosho have a different way it mounts to the chassis then a standard .21 engine.

Kyosho have always done this unless they release an optional engine mount for the RB7.

I would be stocking up those issues with the engine parts or taking real good care of your engine.
