I take this is a what if rather than an actual ship that was in the film?
Either way its a very interesting project and I will really enjoy following this.

So a long day in the workshop today as we all know January is a long month, what I wanted to achieve was the rear super structure and the dorsal section and hopefully some plasticard. ![](http://) godan61 attached the following image(s):

Ok one of the days it just all goes right and have 2 new friends called super glue and liquid poly, using these allow you to do a lot more work than working with wood and glue. One slight concern is I have become a little obsessed with this build so think just a little bit of work on the engine bell during the week and see if I can get the back end on next weekend, one thing thats just dawned on me is that this is going to end up nearly 3' long oops. This is probably it until this time next week but have to say the plasticard gives a nice surface to act as a base for the detail. ![](http://) godan61 attached the following image(s):

Lovely design concept, I can see the Sulacco elements appearing, especially around the nose! Looking forward to seeing this one come together! Ok so this week and weekend has been to concentrate on building the engine and reactor section on which the detail will go. I have decided that there will be no model parts at all in this build so with that in mind I used inch and a half waste pipe covers which were perfect, I then rolled a sheet of plasticard to make the engine and cut the flutes out. Coretex along with plasticard panels form the raised sections, I also added parts of the side superstructure with mdc and cortex. Have a couple days off this week so hoping to block in the superstructure with plasticard so I have a base to work from. ![](http://) godan61 attached the following image(s):

Thanks it really is a voyage of the unknown working with 2 mediums I have never put together before but the fun bit is not having a plan just a concept. Let your mind just run riot.

Ok so had 5 straight days off work so cracked on a bit, have blocked in all the superstructure. First rule I have learnt cut 2 one left one right, also do each piece alternate so you keep it balanced. The engine bell needs cleaning up and a bit of realignment but will do that in the next phase so all the body is on one line. also used thin plastruct section to put on some of the forward detail and either side of the central structure channel, this channel will house the loading bays and other detail. The top shot shows the shape lovely just what I was going for, just a little cleaning up on the nose. Think the next posts will start to get farther apart as there is quiet a bit of detail to go on including armoured panes, engine section detail and weaponry. Remember no model parts to be used thats the challenge. ![](http://)
