Andy,

I was looking at post #288 and I thought it was a great idea to use etch eyes. I was trying to find them on the internet but with no luck. Do you remember where you were able to purchase them?

Thanks,

Dan

BigGrin Hi Dan

The etch eyes I used are from the Eduard etch set for the 1/350 Mikasa there are several different types in the set that all come in useful. The eyes used on the bow came from the same set too. Link below,

Andy,

Back again. Just received the etchings you recommended and yes they are really small, part 126 I believe. Quick question, what tool did you use to grab them so you could put them in place. The tweezers I have, they are normal ones, seem to be too big. Did you loop them through a wire then glue them?

Thanks for all your help and suggestions.

Best Regards,

Dan

BigGrin Hi Dan

I used a small set of tweezers but the carpet gremlins did grab a couple, these tools may be of use to you i have used the pick and place and can reccomend then as for the pencil it looks like it will work the same although it may leave traces of the medium used to grab the part. Links below.

Andy,

Thanks again, I am learning more about available tools by the minute, these would have been a great help months ago! One more question the holes for the eyelets (part 126 on etchings) are too small for the thread that is supplied, at least that is what my wife says and just a quick look makes me believe she is correct. Are we wrong or did you use a thinner sewing thread for this.

Thanks

Dan

BigGrin Hi Dan

I discarded the thread supplied [Way to hairy and resembled spiders legs Blink LOL ] and used grey fishing line for the flag lines and it fitted ok, although its a pain to super glue. The best method I found was to tie it off add a small drop of super glue and leave for a good half hour before trimming the ends off.

Regards

AndyCool

PS I got my fishing line from a Carp specialist shop but I think any good tackle shop should have it in stock.
