UPDATE:250115.
Victory Cross Section.

Just a small up date on the cross section, it has been some time since I have looked at this build but it is all good fun plus the extra experience with the main Victory build, so at the moment this is about were I am.

There will be more to follow.

Regards
Trev.

Hi Alan,
Thank you for having a look it has been some time since I have even looked at this build but when I did it seemed wrong not to continue and finish. The next stage will be to complete the Orlop deck and paint the side walls white, the deck will be lighter than the keel deck I will be using Colron Liquid Beeswax ( Georgian Medium Oak ) the more you put on the darker it will get you then allow about 15 minutes and buff it really brings the lustre out in the wood, let's see what happens.

Regards
Trev.

UPDATE:010215.
Victory Cross Section.

Today I decided to try and turn a few bit's mainly for my Victory build as this cross section I find a good to practice on, so today I have made a wood pot,a small barrel and a fire bucket, I am very keen to make fire buckets but not to sure of the size for my Victory build.
The wood I used this time was Lime (which is easy to turn) and Mahogany a hard reddish-brown which is very hard to turn, the first picture will show the work on the Lathe the rest of the pictures will show were I am with the cross section.
After completing the large and small gratings the next job was to lay the Orlop planking and sand the ends, then to paint the bulwarks white this is about as far as I have built at the moment.

Work on the Unimat lathe.

Work on the gratings.

Work on the Orlop Deck AFT

Thanks for looking.
Regards
Trev.

Jase,
Well I had a another go at making those buckets I found it better with Lime a softer wood to turn, I was wondering if you have had the time to try your new Proxxon lathe yet and what type of wood you find best?
