Check out some of the exciting new 2015 releases from Airfix!!:
http://www.airfix.com/shop/pre-orders.html?p=1
Of particular interest is a new version of their much celebrated 1:24 'Mossie' though this time it's the FBVI fighter-bomber version?[ One that I will definitely be getting is their 1:72 Avro Shackleton, a kit which has been requested by modellers for many a year, and with the few older mouldings from 'Frog' and the like going for silly money on Ebay, this one will be very well received I've no doubt!! There is also an Armstrong Whitworth Whitley bomber in 1:72 which I believe is an 'all new tooling' release?
They are also set to release some of their classic 1:144 airliners (not sure if they are new tooling or not) including the Comet and best of all the beautiful turboprop Vickers Vanguard in the glorious 'Red Square' BEA markings (I'll be getting that one for sure!). Some interesting new releases in 1:48 scale as well including a new Hurricane, also some nice WWII RAF ground crew and airfield vehicles and in 1:32 there is a 'Crusader' Mk.III tank!! I wish they would get with it and release their military kits in 1:35 scale like everybody else though!?
All in all, it looks like an exciting (and expensive) year from Airfix!!

Yeah, I know what you mean Jase. The recent rejuvenation of Airfix by its' new owners Hornby has seen the quality of moulding improve a great deal over what it was before and some of their new kits, like the 1:24 Typhoon and some of their smaller stuff is comparable to the standards from much more highly regarded manufacturers, BUT, there have been some 'fit' issues on some of them?
The 1:72 Blenheim I (which I have) has cockpit glazing fit issues and I know that you had an awful experience with that 'Type 45 Destroyer', so yes, there are some brilliant new kits coming from Airfix and they are worth considering on price alone, but you do need to check them out thoroughly before you buy? Though 'test' builds in the magazines are only that, a test and often issues are resolved before general release, so I wouldn't judge their kits on what the first test shots show or say? Therefore I agree, better to wait until a few 'post release' builds have been completed.
