Hi I am another newbie to ship modelling and this is my first post, I have found this forum very usefull in solving most of my problems up to now thank you. I have just started to fit the gunwales on the forecastle and the upper and lower quarterdecks (issues 75/76) and have found a problem. The holes in the gunwales are to small for the round frames to fit. The frames have an outside diameter of 12.52mm the holes are 8.25mm. This wouldn't normally be a problem as I would enlarge the hole but the wood on the forecastle is only 9.5mm. This applies to all of the above gunwales. I'm not sure what to do to overcome this problem any suggestions would be considered.

Hi Taff, great to hear from you.. If I understand you correctly then rest assured there isn't a problem here. I believe you are referring to the ornamental cast gun port rings, if so they do not fit inside the holes on the wales they fitted on the outside and centred with the hole in the wale, ie, the centre of the ring matches the centre of the hole in the wale and glued on using expoxy or CA. If this is not what you are referring to then let me know, a pic would also help if possible..Cool Cool Hope this helps.

Regards

Alan

Hi Thanks for the reply. I should really get the magnifier out more often then I would have seen that they are indeed on the outside. Cool Thanks again
