Hello I'm Shaun. I am 27 years old and from malmesbury in Wiltshire. I work full time as an agricultural engineer but in my spare time a love modelling. I have been building and racing rc cars since I was 14 and currently have three hpi racing cars (super nitro rally, savage and a baja). I have always wanted to build a wooden model boat and have been watching this forum for a couple off months now. Combined this with my love for the titanic and the engineering that went into her I have just purchased a 1/144 scale billing boat model of her. This will be the first model boat I have build and may, will ran into trouble along the way and would like to ask you all for your help and advice along the way. Many thanks and regards Shaun kennett Building-RC spitfire Build- titanic,Skyrider drone, solar system, T72 tank

Hi Shaun Welcome to the forum, she is certainly a beast of a ship and good luck with her. If your unsure of anything just ask there are other members building the same ship and they can help with that and as for anything else there's plenty of help to be had. Regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Thank you all again for your warm welcomes. The kit has how arrived but there are some parts missing and damaged in the kit so I am waiting for them to arrive before starting the build. After seeing Bernd adjustable keel jig in the model know how section I have decided to make my own one at 2 meters long for this build as I can get all the metal through my work very cheap (only about £20 for all the alluminium and stainless steel bolts) so I will make a start building the jig this week end so am ready to start the model when I get the rest off the parts. So this morning when looking on flee-bay for a cheap airfix kit to build so I wait for the rest of my billing titanic kit I came across a complete set off 125 issues off unopened hachette 1/32 scale Lancaster kit . As you can probably guess I went straight ahead and payed the buy it now price of 550. So I am now going to have about a 150mile trip from here in malmesbury to go to sleaford to collect it which I am going to do next week end. Next question is which to build first the billing boat titanic that I have been looking at building for about a year now and have just got round to buying or the hachette Avro Lancaster that I purchased today on impulse? Long day and 300 miles later the hachette Lancaster 1/32 scale is home and all present with a few minor damaged parts that should be easy repaired or replaced. Now I think its a early night and maybe have a go at starting this kit in the morning. Thinking I may enter it into my build of the year competition or maybe enter may billing boats titanic when I get the rest of the parts for it. What do you lot think?
