Great to see a mention of the DeAgostini MP4/4 kit in the latest Tamiya Model Magazine #232. Its only a small mention but they say they will be documenting it over the next couple of months

Sadly they give Continuo an un warranted bashing for oversimplifying the instructions, but what the writer of the article does not realise is that Continuo did not format the instructions, it was done in Japan, and later on Continuo did the text translation into English
All partwork instructions are formatted with the novice in mind, which to the experienced modeller, can look over simplified., but for the novice are a god-send

I think they kind of missed the point of partworks with that comment.I know from experience receiving a box full of wood and a few sheets of plans in Italian makes building a wooden ship very difficult so they dont get built. The process of step by step instructions not only lowers the barrier of intimidation, but it gives you direction and shows you how you can break down these complex builds into manageable steps. It also teaches you HOW to build so you don't need to buy 10 books on shipbuilding.
I have never heard of anyone complaining the instructions are too simple before. I just received a studio scale resin AT-ST kit with no instructions at all-not even a parts list.It will take me hours of internet searches and looking at pics to figure out how to build this.

Just a quick heads up- the next instalment is in the June issue of TMM, issue no. 236. Saw it in WH Smith today. Haven't bought it yet but will do in the next few days. (Edit:- Just seen that the next edition is out tomorrow...)
