Hi, I got an "almost full set" of Hachette Lancaster Bomber issues from eBay. The guy sent me the list of 10 or so missing issues, I checked that all of them are available on eBay, so I made the purchase. After getting the kit from him and carefully reviewing the content, it seems that he "forgot" to mention several additional issues that are not there - and not surprisingly, all of them are in the first 10, very hard to get 2nd hand. Is there a chance any of you guys have them laying around and gathering dust, and would be willing to part with them for a reasonable fee?

The list: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10

I'll also appreciate any pointers for where to look for them. eBay search came up empty. Thanks!

Nope. This guy had a wrong paypal address entered in his ebay settings, (.co.uk instead of .com) so when I arrived to pick up the model in person he didn't have his payment yet. I went straight to paypal on my mobile, cancelled the one sent to wrong address, and sent another payment to the right address straight from PayPal. These are not protected and not eligible for a dispute.

The guy seemed to be very confused by technology and generally a nice person. Right now I think it was all planned to be like that. Back then, when meeting him at my car in the street, late in the evening, a bit in a hurry, I made the mistake of not checking the contents there and then. So, a bit my fault, but what I can do - I usually trust people until they let me down. Talked to him on the phone later but he laughed me down.

Presumably you have his home addres or at lest eBay should be able to provide it, therefore why not pay him a visit, as you could now be landed with something you cannot complete as the first 10 issues won't be easy to find, and therefore what you have is almost worthless if you can't find. Could end up a hard lesson learned Crying

Sounds like a setup to me, you can still claim a PP dispute even for just sending a payment but if you "gifted" the payment then you can't. Also, you are fully covered if the paypal payment method was a credit card - you can claim back from them instead.

After all that somehow I don't think is home address will be a real one either... I'll keep monitoring eBay, maybe something will come up.

I doubt you will find single issues of the ones you need. You may see another complete collection which you could buy though and sell yours on as singles.

Or, there may be the possibility of finding a Lanc part built to just beyond the first 10-20 issues which would also be fine for you.

Hi Michu, BigGrin

This could be a partly lucky day.Blink

First a question.

Do you have to get the magazines or will the parts alone do the job?

If parts alone will do, then I can help.(I have no magazines)

I have the following:

Part one: Wooden fret, but no Stringers.

Part four: All Parts

Part five: All Parts

Part ten: All Parts

I can get the instructions to you for those parts as well.

Now some advise that may also help:

Not sure which but either Part 1 or Part 2 has a propeller and spinner.
A Prop and spinner can be obtained from any part number that has them.

Part six is an engine. Any part with the main engine components will do.

If you are short of stringers any part with stringers in will do.

Now I`m afraid that`s where the good news ends. Crying Crying

The parts I can`t help with are number 2 and number 9.
Both of these are very scarce.

If the parts I have are of any use to you, then I`m sure we can come to some sort of arrangement to get them to you.

Just sorry I couldn`t help with numbers 2 and 9.

Regards

Hi Michu, BigGrin

You should be sorted now.

Posted all you need except base for part nine, which you can make from the fret supplied.

See PM for details. Cool

You`ll love this kit, but be gentle some parts are fragile until assembled.

Should you need any further assistance, don`t hesitate to contact me.

Derek, you're the man! Thanks so much. I guess I have no other option than to start a nice build diary of my own now :-)

Hi Michu, BigGrin

Can`t wait to see what you do with this one. Cool

Pre-start advise:

Take your time, as I said it`s fragile in places.

Look forward in the build to see where you can make the task easier.

Buy in large amounts of superglue gel for the stringers.

When starting a new section of the build, let the first parts set hard before going any further. It will help keep thin parts straight later on.

FINALLY:

Clear a big space to build it on and ENJOY!!! Love

I realise this is a really old thread, but i am searching for some parts and/or instructions for the Lancaster bomber for my dad, who is totally averse to all things technological.
He has majority of the issues with parts and instructions but is missing issues 3, 4 and 120.

I can't find any on eBay amazon etc, so was wondering if anyone may be able to offer some help or advice

Many thanks
Graeme.

Might pay you to put a watch on this ebay offering as it contains a part 120 amongst the other magazines on offer.

No guarantees what the bids might be. You could be lucky and find no one wants it so with a low start bid it could go in your favour.
