Hello all
Looking way ahead through the instructions I see that it is necessary to use the supplied pins to secure the aluminium plates to the wooden wing frames, but in the screenshots of the finished model there are no pins visible. Are these pins temporary or am I missing something? Don't ask the wife that!
Thanks all
Alan

Hi Alan, The wing plate pins are supplied with the kit, I have notice this myself and wondered why there not shown. Regards Trev. Work in progress: Tombstone (Scratch) - San Francisco 2. -The Mayflower ( scratch by plan).

You don't have to fit the pins if you don't want to but they are supplied for realism

Thanks for your replies.
Mr.T, You mention the pins add realism, but I have looked at several photos of the real aircraft and cannot see any of the pins discussed in this thread.
I'm not criticising-far from it-I thought the rivets held the panels to the wing frame (in real life aircraft) so pins would not be present at all?
Hope that makes sense!
Thanks again
Regards
Alan

Hi Guys, Regarding the pins you my find that after a time depending on which bonding agent you use, your metal plates could move so may be the pins would to keep in place,In fact if you look close at my build you will find that I have used screws to hold the wing plates down, also if you show your Spitfire in the summer days with all that metal the air frame could heat up so its up to the builder which way to go?
