Greetings all... big time sci-fi geek here. Been building models since I was introduced to them in the boy scouts as a boy of 6. Needless to say my birthday has Roman numbers in it! :) Anyway... I'm a big movie fan and have been fascinated with sci-fi model building all my life. Learned alot about building on my own and even more since the internet came out. I have a ton of knowledge stuck in my brain (next to useless movie trivia facts like the number for the trash compactor was 3262827) but alot of it has to do with building models and the tricks I've learned over the years.
I'm always ready to add a helping hand of a tip or two and I try to make my descriptions as easy to understand as possible. So if you see me in the forum and I leave a post about something, it's probably because I've either done it before, probably know how its been done before or have been running it thru my brain awhile thinking about how I would do it.
Honestly, I've never heard of DeAgostini before the release of the Falcon. That's not to say I probably haven't seen the kits before. I've been to a few model building competitions and have wondered how or where they got such beautiful model that always ended up winning some kind of prize (I know I'm not a bad builder, but comon, they were off the charts). I suppose that you folks across the pond have been a well kept secret amoungst the competitors here in the states.
The buzz about the Falcon is incredible and I'm sure you're all going to see alot more of us yankees across the pond around here sharing our wisdom and teaching you brits a thing or two in terms of american slang! :) Personally I'm happy and excited to be a part of this and cannot wait to begin building this beautiful kit. I just hope that it's not gonna be the last sci-fi kit that you folks produce. I can think of sooooooooooooooooo many others that have never been made that would be awesome to own.
So Hi all you crazy awesome british folks! And a big howdy to all my fellow RPFers that have been buying this up! Hope to get to know a bunch of you soon and look forward to seeing everyone's builds! (You truly cannot tell I'm excited can you? Didn't think so!)

Hi Jim Welcome to the forums, always nice to see new members. I too am collecting the Falcon, you are right that it has definately kicked up a storm. Its a fantastic kit, Im currently up to issue 9 but have not done much as I am concentrating more on my Finemolds falcon at the moment for the build of the year competition. Check it out: http://forum.model-space...spx?g=posts&t=14269
There is always room for someone else, the winner gets a free subscription to a model of their choice, and there is lots of amazing ones to choose from. Hope you enjoy your stay and look forward to seeing some of your work

Oh you know I will be posting my build diary as I begin. This is going to be LEGEN... wait for it... DARY! I must say, I've been a big UK supporter since seeing Doctor Who on BBC as a kid and watching it ever since. I'm a big TV and Movie buff and probably know more about sci-fi then I do my grade school math! (Matter of fact, I think I lost the number 387 out of my brain sometime during the viewing of Episode 1 back when it was released). I can remember camping out for 3 weeks in front of the theater to see Empire Strikes Back when it first came out. Me and my best friend were first in line and were given Revenge of the Jedi posters! (Yeah I know... special right? LOL)
I got a twisted sense of humor and hope the rest of you do because without it I think I would go a little crazy! Wait... am I crazy already? The voice in my head says no so I think we're good! LOL Look forward to getting to know all you peoples! (SHUT UP, I'm talking here! No you cannot have some ice cream, you'll ruin your supper!) So... YEAH! LOL
