This is Jasmine models 1/72 Ho-229 photoetch kit. I decided to paint it because otherwise it just looks like a jumble of metal to me. This was a very challenging build.The metal is so thin that it was really hard to avoid deforming some of the parts.The attachment point s are also tiny and I found that previously glued joints would pop open at the slightest pressure. This is also a kit you don't want to build after drinking coffee or if your hands shake.I used my surgical loupes to see what I was doing and I was still all googlie eyed after working on it.It took me about 10 hours to build this. darbyvet attached the following image(s):

Looks fantastic I can just picture the concentration and patience that went into this. Looking at all the parts there 10 hours sounds pretty good going

Cheers, Gord. Hi Gord thanks for the kind words. I used thin super glue for most of it, but for the bigger joints I used 5 minute epoxy. The instructions are close up pictures of the model.They are OK but sometimes you need to study them a bit to figure out where things went. THis is definitely a model that will test your patience. Hi Carl, that's a kit out of my worst nightmares  I don't mind a bit of etch now and again but Id go nuts putting that one together. You've done a great job though and love the idea of the colour parts too. Steve

Thanks guys,
my wife thinks I am nuts building these things.She has stopped coming up behind me and asking me what I am doing which usually results in me jumping and launching what I am building across the room.
I find it distracting and relaxing to completely focus on a model,especially a challenging one like this.
