You know what it's like................You wait years for something and then it happens. BUILD HMS VICTORY IN EASY PARTS. I was soooo pleased. I thought to myself, 'Paul' you will take your time over this one and get all the right tools for the job.
I started the launch making a slow methodical job of it, reading the instructions over and over again to get it right. The planking was fantastic, the paint job was second to none............I was so proud. After a good nights sleep I looked at it again holding very gently, caressing it with much love, (soppy sod). I then dropped it. Thankfully it didn't break................But it did when I ran over it with me wheelchair. It looked like it had been hit by an oil tanker. Well, dunno 'bout you but I think it's funny. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Soooo sorry to hear of your calamity with your launch Paul...modelling while sitting in a wheelchair is not the best of positions, very limiting, and I should know, I'm sitting in one right now...perhaps you can re-order issue 6 using the little order form that came with issue 22, and get double the enjoyment of building the launch again mate..I certainly would!! Like you, I have been waiting for a decent build of Victory to come along and bought the extra tools to make sure that my model will be perfect. I intend to savour every single moment of this particular build...hope you enjoy your build too mate.. Current Builds: Deagostini HMS Victory: Deagostini HMS Sovereign of the seas. Completed Builds: Del Prado: HMAS Bounty: Hachette: RMS Titanic: Del Prado: Cutty Sark...

At least you know one thing for sure, how to build a great launch. If you have done it once you can do it again. Remember most of the enjoyment is in the process.

Sorry Paul! I know how you feel Accidents happen, just have to start again. Keep your spirits up mate, you'll laugh about it one day. I have bad eye sight and knocked a book shelf over once total smashed the American PT boat I was making from scratch nearly finished it to, I only had the RC and motors to install, took years to build another boat or should that be the ship I've just started. Now I can laugh about what I did, but at the time could have cried. Darron

Thanks for your sympathy shipmates. Like I said I thought it was funny......it was just the irony of it really. I have just reordered issue 6 as advised it is worth it.

I wish I could say I see no humour in the situation ,but alas I think it's funny...I had to do my launch twice ...my pride and joy turned sour when I saw pics of other builds ...I have now risen above such foolishness...I stopped looking at pics. Paul Keep going, I know there's a lot of work in the launch but imagine if you'd knocked Victory over herself. I know you'll rise above it, you seem to have a better attitude to life than most anyway. Send us pictures of the rebuild. Finally, are you sure you weren't disturbed by the wife bringing in a cup of tea or something. Someone else must have caused it. Haha. ArtfulBodger Previous Build: HMS. Bounty

I am keeping a photo record of my build and took this one on 1st Sept. My pretty little long boat was fit & well then. Shame I never kept it, I could have posted a photo so all could have a giggle. Paul attached the following image(s):

Nothing worse then seeing all your hard work go splat. ....a while ago i built a games workshop figure and it looked great i had even done the painting....which looked top ....then my wife knocked it off the table.. ...it took two days of repairs...and the good thing was she got me an extra one ..... ...so a disaster turned out o.k ....hope things with the launch turnes out o.k for you Paul...
