Hi all fellow Head Scratches's (re-insrtuctions), I am going to start doing some more work on my Surprise tomorrow 16 Aug, Finnish sanding and then cutting out the holes for the cannons , god help me. Regards

Looking good Robert, How were the gunports to cut out? I'm gonna be onto with in the next week. And The instructions are vague. I'm waiting too see what Parts I get with issue 5-6 they sent on monday...

Hi and thanks for your support. All I can say is I followed these instructions bellow. Using a pencil, mark the thickness of the frames. Starting with the bow and 6mm from the line marking the height of the first deck (red broken line), mark the 15x15mm gun ports which should be spaced 45mm apart. We recommend that you refer to the general plan. Regards

I have just finished ALL the gun ports on BOTH sides of The Surprise now, going to start the Sapel Dark Wood on the bottom of Hull now. Will post pic's soon. Regards

Thanks magpie yours is looking good too, I Love your deck well done, but I'm not doing my deck yet because I want to wait till I have glued all the wooden parts to the deck, I found cutting out the Gun Ports quit Easy, you should too I think. Regards

Looking brilliant Robert, those gun ports look really sharp! Glad to hear that you find them easy, I'm not far from being in a position to start mine.
Looking forward to seeing your sapele planks in place...I'll be watching like a hawk for any hints and tips!

Lol... Its quite funny that we are all upto the sanding down stage now... I started last night and got 1/4 way down one side... Then got arm ache..
