Hi Hans Thanks for your comments. Building the Akagi is a slow process but will be worth it in the end. The build sequence is a bit out of order for my way of building as I prefer to build the hull first and add details as required but patience will pay off. Enjoy your build. Ken

Hi All. Have not forgotten to post, but have been collecting issues while working on another conversion from card to wood/plastic of HMS Prince of Wales while getting ready for a good concentrated modelling session on the Akagi. To date a lot of the cast fittings have been assembled and await fitting to the painted hull. Will post pictures soon. Ken

Hi folks, Thanks for your kind comments. Finally taken some pics of progress so far. Made the mistake of following the instructions and fitted the guns etc. to the platforms without realising the amount of alterations to be done to the platforms to get them to fit and inadvertently broke off some of the guns. Luckily I have a good selection of power tools for the removal of the hard white metal. Fit and removed the handrail as it looks overscale for my taste and dwarfs some of the details. Work has started on the flight deck which I am going to make in one piece and glue down so all the internal fittings are not required. Ken attached the following image(s): Ken

Hi Ken Looking great, there is a fair amount of work involved to get the gun decks to fit the hangar/hull sides you can take it off with a grinder and I also did this but you can in certain places cut a groove out of the side and slide the gun deck in place. Keep the pics coming. Regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

hi Arpurchase. I also had to cut slots in the hanger side to get the platforms to fit and also had to use a grinder on some of the parts. Will be posting more pics as progress continues. Ken

Hi All Because I have decided to stick the flight deck down and make in one piece I also left out the brass joining strips which now gives it very clean lines. Masking tape has been left at the stern of the flight deck while a coat of varnish has been put on ready for the decals. Construction is complete up to issue 22. Still have lots of bit to fit before the end tho. Ken attached the following image(s): Ken
