Hi All! I attached some pictures of 1/700 IJN battle ship Kongo's full hull model. This is congratulatory gift to my friend, since ship models are believed to be good-luck articles in Japan. Kongo(金剛) was was the first "battle cruiser" of the Kongo class. Her designer was the British naval engineer George Thurston, and she was laid down in 1911 at Barrow-in-Furness in Britain by Vickers Shipbuilding Company. She is one of the popular IJN war ships in Japan. Best Regards, Yutaro Yutaro HONMA attached the following image(s): DeAGOSTINI 1/250 the YAMATO, 1/250 the AKAGI. Water line series 1/700 Battle ship YAMATO, HIEI, YAMASHIRO, Aircraft carrier HIRYU,TAIHO, Heavy Cruiser Myoukou, Ashigara, Nachi, Haguro & others.

I am a fan myself of Japanese ships, especially Yamato & Kongo along Akagi. After working in 1/350 with photo etch I can imagine the skill and patience required to work with it in 1/700 You have done an amazing job, this looks fantastic A big to you

Hi Steve, Carl, Davetwin and Andy! Thank you very much for massages and comments on my post. Such 1/700 war ship models used to be collector's items in Japan. Some companies collaborated to develop the products of IJN war ships comprehensively. Since their aim was to produce kits of all the WWII war ships on a commercial, they omitted nicety of the models until later. Recently high quality models are required in Japan, lots of 1/700 popular models are re-produced with photoetching and wood-deck seals. This KONGO kit is one of such new models. Best Regards, Yutaro DeAGOSTINI 1/250 the YAMATO, 1/250 the AKAGI. Hasegawa Co. 1/350 Battle ship NGATO, 1/350 Aircraft carrier Akagi, Battle ship MIKASA.
