Hi Guys
I am about to start my build and have a few questions regarding Paint. Keep in mind I am a first timer :-)
- What sort of paint should I be using for the HMS? Would Humbrol do? - Is there any local SA site where I can purchase these? - Any prep needed before painting?
Any info / links would be a great help! Thanks

Hi Aaron Welcome to the build, looks like most of us in this forum, the SA forum are new builders. I have done a bit of research both on the build forum and at a local hobby shop. I have been advised that the best are acrylics, these are water based and use a primer on the metal parts before painting. Best thing about the acrylics are that they are water based so no foul odours in a confined space and they are quicker drying. So far the black and ochre colours have been fine except the ochre I got is a little too brown, need to find a better yellow ochre before I go too far. Hope this helps and if you discover any other helpful tips I would love to know them too. Current build : The Victory Pending builds : none - yet Built loads of bikes trucks planes and boats - all plastic kits. on wish list - a 1:24 spitfire, in wood, plastic, just as long as I can build it :)
